BSU bill-paying options save paper and time

Bonita Springs Utilities is making bill paying more convenient for its member-customers with several electronic options. The newest service is e-mail delivery of monthly bills.

Choosing to have your bill e-mailed to you each month, rather than continuing the traditional post office delivery, is fast and easy. Visit www.bsu.us. If you are already registered, click ‘Pay your bill online’ in the Customer Center box in the top left corner. Log on with your account information; then click ‘E-Billing’ in the line immediately beneath the page heading. Follow the instructions, and watch your e-mail inbox.

If you have not previously registered on the BSU website, refer to one of your paper bills, click on ‘Register,’ and enter the requested information, including your customer number and e-mail address. You will be asked to review the terms and conditions of the service and to create a password. Once you’ve registered, click on ‘E-Billing;’ then follow the instructions.

Receiving you bills via e-mail saves paper and provides immediate access to your monthly bill anywhere you can check your e-mail.

Once you’ve received your monthly bill, either through the mail or by e-mail, you have two options that allow you to skip mailing a paper check. You can pay your bill each month on our website using a credit or debit card, or you can enroll in our automatic bill pay service, which eliminates worries about late payments due to busy schedules or travel.

To pay with your credit or debit card, you must first register on www.BSU.us. Have one of your bills in front of you, and follow the registration instructions above. BSU accepts Visa and MasterCard.

The most convenient payment option, which does not require computer access, is the automatic bill pay service, which allows your bill to be paid automatically each month through a direct-debit charge or an automatic fund transfer from your bank account. To arrange for this service, pick up a brochure at the Bonita Springs Utilities office on East Terry Street, or print instructions and an authorization form at http://BSU.us/files/Pay.PDF.

Once the authorization form and a voided check are returned to the utility, confirmation usually takes one billing cycle (approximately four weeks). You should continue to pay your bill as you normally would until you see this note on your bill: AFT DO NOT PAY.

The money will be transferred from your bank account approximately 10 days after the billing date. Your monthly bank statement will show the date of the transaction and confirm the amount. The automatic bill pay option can be cancelled at any time by notifying BSU in writing.

No one enjoys paying bills, but BSU is pleased to make the chore quick and easy for our member-customers.

FAQ: Boil Water Notices
Boil water notices are common in Southwest Florida, caused by water main breaks, construction mistakes, disruptions at the water treatment plant and natural disasters like floods and hurricanes. The typical notice is issued as a precaution until water samples can be collected and analyzed.  CLICK HERE for answers to your questions.
